~ Mrs.Fahey will be working with the other grade 3 teachers in the afternoon, prepping for our very exciting Social Studies project starting next week. Mrs. Weaans will be in our classroom :)

Dr. Seuss's Birthday!
Today we celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday! We started the day with a class photo:
We then had our spirit assembly where Gregor, Lynnley and Faith were awarded with the Engaged Thinker award. Congratulations you three!!
Unfortunately, we were supposed to do a Mystery Hangout and read some Dr. Seuss books, but technology failed us and we had to cancel. But that didn't stop us from still reading a few great books!
Mia and Bobbi read Tad and Todd to the class!!
We had quite a few students dress as their favorite Dr. Seuss character.

Justin, Charlotte and Faith read One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish while Mia and Bobbi acted out the various scenes.

Finally to end our amazing Dr. Seuss day, we completed a skype chat with a class in Anchorage, Alaska.
During our skype chat, we went through a Slide Show that the amazing teacher in Alaska created. We discussed our favorite Dr. Seuss books, characters and completed numerous read alouds of some of Dr. Seuss' famous quotes. During the presentation, some "Dr. Seuss characters" popped up!! Those characters are some of our students and some of the students from Alaska! Finally at the end we had a chance to practice our dabbing skills and took a class photo with our new pals in Alaska.

Traditional Indian Clothing
We have been learning about India in Social Studies. Lynnley's friend, went to India where she got a traditional sari. Lynnley was lucky enough to receive such a beautiful gift.
