This week we are working on the "-ake and -eak" patterns.

Friday's spelling test will consist of these new words, 5 old words (words from last week), 5 pattern words (words that follow either the -ake or -eak pattern) and the two challenge words. Students do not know the pattern words for the test on Friday, however they will have viewed those words throughout the week in our word study. The purpose of pattern words is to see if students can put their knowledge into practice, rather than simply memorizing and then eventually forgetting.
