Hana's Suitcase

For the last 3 weeks, we've been reading the story: Hana's Suitcase by Karen Levine.

It has been such an amazing experience teaching the students of 3B about some major parts of our world's history, such as World War 2 and the Holocaust. Students had so many questions and were curious as to how such an event could even occur. This story brought out so many incredible conversations about historical and current day events. The final paragraph sums up the lessons Hana, Fumiko and George have taught students. Those are the lessons of: Tolerance, Respect and Compassion.
